1189-4 - E. Joy Morris - $11,500
E. Joy Morris “Hackney” Horse, 1900-1905, outside row. Characterized as a “hackney” or coach horse because of the bobbed tail, cropped mane, and bridle bit, this dramatic horse features a realistic rendering of a sparrow hawk under the cantle and three bells and a rosette on the bridle. See Carousel News & Trader, September 1997, pp. 18-21, for detailed information about this horse and its restoration. Provenance: Heritage Plantation, Sandwich, MA; Ken and Barb Weaver, Spring City, PA. Restored by Bob and Wanda Hoelscher, Redmond, WA, 61”L x 61”H.
