1192-7 - E. Joy Morris -  SOLD
Circa 1902 from the E. Joy Morris carousel works in Philadelphia.  A fancifully carved blanket with a fringed and tasseled curvilinear edge, skillfully interwoven with a long body strap, distinguishes the outside row stander. The gentle faced horse with flowing mane and tail seems unconcerned about the cantle carving—a "tuxedo" cat proudly displaying his trophy mouse. Last worked on the Skylon Towers carousel at Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Restored, glass eyes. 59 long x 56 high.
