Circa 1916. From the Charles W. Parker carousel works in Leavenworth,
Kansas comes this dynamically posed carousel horse characterizing the
era's fascination with all things of the Old West. The exceptionally large
dapple grey outside row jumper lifting its head in the "Star Gazer"
mode is outfitted for an Indian Brave— eagle feathers flowing from
the jeweled and buckled headstall, a richly detailed cougar skin pelt
for a saddle, plus a canteen and an arrow filled quiver. Older restoration.
78 long x 56 high. 48 chest to rump.
