1263-1 - Dentzel/Muller - $4900 - (Time payments available)
Circa 1895 outside row prancer. This elegant carousel style, known as the Thoroughbred, was created by master carver Daniel Muller during his employment at the Dentzel factory and is an example of Muller's skill in portraying a naturalistic horse while maintaining the excitement of a carousel steed. Showing great equine expression and a proud stance the all wood prancer carries its sensitive head on an erect neck furnished with a tumbling mane. The figure is harnessed of an English style saddle cinched by a split girth over a double blanket and further secured by a breastband and shoulder strap. Complementary breeching, crupper and split loin straps encompass the hindquarters while the glass-eyed head is restrained by a bridle with reins. A lovely older restoration. 58 Long x 58 high.
