Dentzel “Smiley Bear”, circa 1905. Rare running figure with friendly face. Considered to be master carver Salvatore Cernigliaro’s attempt to make their wild menagerie figures more friendly and inviting to children. See p. 47, Painted Ponies, for similar bear.
