D.C. Muller all wood carousel horse. The outside row stander, one ear cocked back in attention to his rider, raises its head to level on an erect neck crested with a flowing mane carved in high relief. Elaborate but refined trappings include a saddle with foliate edging and a shell like volute at the cantle, a saddle flap with ruched border and an incised and tasseled girth - all sitting atop a plain bordered blanket. The breastband is garnished with more foliage and punctuated with depending tassels while feathery fronds are tucked under the cantle. An outstanding figure well worth restoration. 68 inches long x 62 inches high.
