1520-1 - Anderson - $3,000
Circa 1900 roundabout galloper from the English firm of J.R. Anderson in Bristol. The leaping white steed is a fine example of the exuberant British style, having fancy scrollwork on the trappings and cascading down the horse's body. Note the lion's face in the foliage, the woman's head on the breast, the neck scroll with the name Gert, the maker's signage and the initials "W.S." - likely indicating the fairground impresario who commissioned the figure. Professional restoration. 71.5 long x 48.5 high. Comes with display stand and natural horsehair tail.
