1584-1 - Looff - SOLD
Once aboard the Looff carousel in Belmont Park, San Diego, CA. The bold leaping giraffe is guarded from predators by a hissing snake emerging from behind the cantle. The head is furnished with an elaborate headstall draped with jeweled straps and a tassel. A plain saddle with roped flap rests atop a blanket of carved leaves punctuated by jeweled disks and is secured by a breastband of jeweled and tasseled roundels laced with jeweled straps. Jeweled and tasseled breeching defines the hindquarters. In excellent condition, restored by Tom and Linda Layton. Brass pole and display stand included. 55 inches long.
