Late 20th century carousel horse by the New York carousel manufacturing company of Marcus Charles Illions. The tucked head stander with a sensitive expression, glass eyes and a natural hair tail bears a carved breast band garnished with tassel terminated lappets and complementary breeching. The English style saddle exhibits painted calligraphic flourishes and rests atop a painted diaper patterned saddle blanket. The pleasing polychrome paint scheme of the ivory horse with green, gold and brown trappings is the work of the master restoration artist Charles Jakubowski.
The horse measures 51.5 inches tall x 53 long; chest to rump measures 39.5
