1620-4 - Spillman - SOLD

Early 1900s all wood carousel figure from the Spillman Engineering Company of North Tonawanda, NY. The horse is posed in the jumping position and carries it head tucked to vertical on an arched neck crested with a flowing mane carved in high relief. The figure is harnessed of a fancy saddle girthed over a bordered and rippled blanket, a breast collar having an incised motif and a complementary crupper. The glass-eyed head is furnished with a simple bridle with disk and leather reins. Additionally, the figure sports stirrups with leather straps, metal shoes and a natural horsehair tail. 54 long x 42 high.
